Ashley & Mike

Mike and I met in 2011, right after I finished graduate school and he completed medical school. His best friend's fiancé (now wife) is best friends with one of my good friends. (Got all that?)

They introduced us, thinking we'd be a good match, and they were right! We started out emailing back and forth, then went bowling and saw "Hangover 2" on our first date - very romantic stuff.

I knew Mike was "the one" pretty quickly - he is the most generous and loyal person I know - and started teasing him about getting engaged after about a year together. I was not subtle, telling him that I wanted a ring for Christmas in 2012.
On my family's annual holiday trip to New York City, he proposed in front of the Rockerfeller Center Christmas tree, right after we walked through the diamond district and I joked, "There's what Mike is never going to get me." It was perfect.

What I love about Mike is that he has an adventurous spirit and we've been able to see so much together, including the beautiful Hoover Dam, the Pacific Ocean and Cinderella's Castle.

We've also become "Aunt Ashley and Uncle Mike" and the parents to a small chocolate and white cocker spaniel. I can't wait to see what the future holds!

Mike and Ashley are a wonderful couple with a fun spirit. You could see that their friends and family truly cared for them on their special day.
They were also a very fun group to be around and I adored the super hero cake that Ashley surprised Mike with.

Knowing Ashley a bit more than Mike, I felt their decorations fell right in line with them, even the little garden gnome found a home at the reception.

Ashley's sister Allison gave a speech for the toast which drew laughter from all, especially Mike.
A good time was had by all as the night progressed on with dancing on the dance floor and the lawn.
