I enjoy going to Ricketts Glen just like most people do. That's where part of the problem lies however, when a place is popular, usually it is also crowded. The nice thing about Ricketts is though that it is big enough to hold a lot of people without being crowded, allowing for plenty of photo opportunities.
Thankfully it was a beautiful day when we went as a family. The bugs were not bad at all, the temperature is always a bit cooler in the woods, but when you're hiking that's not a bad thing, and the trails were perfect for walking.
Some of the photos here I have played around with a bit, and some I have not. You honestly don't have to do a lot to your photos from Ricketts to get them to look nice, but sometimes doing a little extra to them can go a long way.
I've always had an affinity for old tree stumps, don't know why, but ever since I first started taking photos they have seemed to catch my eye. One thing to remember when you go, take your tripod if you have one, and if you don't, well, it's not a bad investment.
Well, I hope if you can't get to Ricketts this year, that you have enjoyed my photos from there and they can bring a smile to your face. If you are interested in ordering prints from any of the images, feel free to contact me about that. Thanks for looking.
